On the tenth day of Blogmas my true love gave to me...
2 days, 2 days, 2 DAYS! My body has decided to let itself get infested with a nice little cold right before Christmas Day, but that shall not dull my spirits! Recently I'm sure you have all seen Lydia Elise Millen's stunning wedding photos, and how she explained that she was down with a cold and that she had to stock up on all the cold & flu medication in order just to get through the day. That will now be me on Christmas.
So as the weather get colder and most of us praying for some more snow (I'm still waiting for that white Christmas), I wanted to share with you all 10 wardrobe staples for me during the winter season as well as what I'll be wearing on Christmas Day itself! Same as a lot of my Blogmas posts, I hope this can help you get a little bit more inspiration wear, not just for the big day, but for this cold season. It will also hopefully lead into February - the next fashion month - so we can get all the inspiration for next year.
I must admit, I don't always love wearing knits, because I often find myself getting far too hot, especially if I am indoors for a lot of the day. But for this season, I wanted to try different things and expand out of my comfort zone. And to be fair, knits this year seem to be softer than ever. Especially this grey star knit from New Look. In fact, my entire look here is from New Look, including these Jenna Lace-Up Jeans and these studded loafers which I will talk about down below. As you can see, I really like the slight balloon style jumpers as I do believe they are more flattering.
The burgundy knit is also a favourite of mine this season, because it looks like any other normal knit jumper from the front, but there is a lovely bit of detailing at the back that makes it different, a bit more sexy and edgy.
This one honestly one of my favourite trends, I love that I wouldn't get too hot in it due to the air around my legs and my favourite thing to do is to pair them with some over knee boots. Lately I have really enjoyed wearing a brand new pearl embellished jumper dress from Stradivarius, which was what I wore to the Blogosphere Christmas Festival.
And this Christmas jumper dress that is pictured here, also in Blogmas Day 1, will be the dress that I will be wearing on Christmas day. I brought this piece from Next not too long ago, and the best thing is, it comes with a red matching version of a jumper for men. So me and Nathan will be going matching this year!
One of my biggest and most amazing investments this year would have to be this beautiful Ted Baker Coat. I have to admit, it was probably the most expensive coat that I had ever brought. But I honestly have no regrets. It is made with high quality Italian fabric and I just adore the mixture of burgundy, blue and pink on the check patterning along with the heavy rose gold hardware. The lining of the coat is the beautiful Ted signature floral print, and no matter what you pair this coat with it will always keep you warm and classy.
After years of living in comfortable leggings and simple black jeans, I have really decided to dive out of my comfort zone with these lovely trousers. These are a pair of lace up jeans, and initially I was worried about how they would look on my because of the fact that I'm not the skinniest girl on earth. But actually, these ended up fitting really well and I absolutely love them!
This piece is a complete staple in my all-year wardrobe, and my favourite this year have been these Topshop banded leggings. As you can see, this photo was actually taken back in the summer, which showed that I have been wearing these for all the seasons.
I am sure that most people would have a nice pair of leggings as a part of their wardrobe staple, so I really like these Topshop ones because of the band with the brand name really make them stand out. I like these to the point where I have at least 3 pairs of these!
Range of Boots
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get pictures of these lovely boots of mine before we had to head home for Christmas, so please just bare with me on these promotional shots that I took from the individual websites. Like I said earlier, over knee boots look amazing with a nice jumper or T-shirt dress. And I found the ones from New Look to be good quality and very affordable!
And these Sock Boots from Topshop were also a recent addition to my wardrobe. I was really glad I got these because the sock boot is definitely in trend for this season, and I love the almost biker-like sole which adds that little bit of rock chick vibes. I also feel that the burgundy goes with quite a lot of other colours and stops me from doing the repetitive comfort thing of wearing all black.
I have been a long time wearer of flat shoes. The lazy side of me just really love the fact that I can just slide my feet in and go. Plus, I don't have to try and find any socks! Which for all the other adults out there, you'll know it's basically an impossible task.
This pair is a recent addition from New Look, after I had worn my last pair to literal death. I love the style of the loafer shoes and I really like the stud detailing on the shoes because it feel it just gives it that extra edge and stops it from being just plain black.
Cross Body Bags
When I am not on my way to universuty and carrying a huge bag, I absolutely adore carrying these small, cute shoulder bags out. Both bags I've shown here the Ted Baker Suede Bag and the Gigi Hadid x Tommy Hilfiger Saddle Bag (from her first collection and unfortunately can no longer be purchased) can easily have my phone, money & cards, small amount of makeup and perhaps even my camera all inside.
I love how different the 2 bags are, the Gigi bag being bright and fun with the navy and bold red, and the mixture of textures on the Ted Baker bag as just the top is suede. There is also lovely rose gold hardware on the bag which is the same as the check coat and I really love the fact that there are stars decorating the Gigi bag.
A great Hat
The latest addition to my winter wardrobe is this gorgeous little hat from River Island. I knew I wanted a hat this year for the increasingly cold weather, and also a hat with 2 pom poms on it. It is different from anything I had ever owned, and again it is another thing that I see is growing in popularity. I think it is a wonderful fashion accessory, and it's muted pink colour really stands out against my brunette hair and I believe it will look lovely on blondes too.
It isn't winter season without a few good scarves or 2. While I do like the tradition knitted scarves, I also am a big fan of these thin but easily styled scarves. This particular one is another product from the Gigi x Tommy collection but this time from the second collection. Because of that, it can no longer be purchased but I had linked to another Tommy scarf which I think is quite similar in design.
I really like how abstract this scarf is, all the different kinds of patterning and colours, but it is still light enough to look good with lots of different outfits! I will always believe that accessories does complete the look!

I know this post was supposed to go up a day earlier, but this cold has been really knocking me down. But anyways, hope you enjoyed this post and Happy Christmas Eve! All the products I've mentioned is all linked so you can buy them if you like them, in the case where the original item is not available, I've tried to find the closest alternative!
