Pinch, punch, first day of the month! Sorry, that had to be done. It’s finally September! Which means it won’t be long before jumper weather, nice coffee indoors, dark colours and all other good things. Just kidding that is me all year round. I remember how I used to hate September for these exact same reasons and restarting school. But now, all I can see are all the good things that the next couple of months will bring. September marks the month I will be moving away from home, to live in a London flat with Nathan (boyfriend & photographer) for university. This is also the month I will have a nephew and many more exciting things I can’t wait to experience.
So this month I wanted to bring something a bit more unique and special to this blog. Since September is the biggest fashion month of the year, I thought I would do a series throughout this month, highlighting what I wear everyday, as my own little fashion month. Only until the day I make it big and get invited to the runway shows. (Every fashion blogger’s dream right?)
Here I am, starting this off with a simple little summer outfit. I am currently still on holiday in Cyprus, so I’m in a little black Bardot skater dress with long sleeves, strappy espadrilles and a dainty little Stella McCartney cross body bag.
I absolutely adore this little dress. It is so flattering with a tie to cinch the waist in, and a perfect skater style skirt on the bottom half that is nice and flowy. And if you get too hot, you can just slide the sleeves off and tie them casually round the back, which is a common habit of mine.
I purchased the shoes around the same time I brought the dress, both from ASOS. I had never owned a pair of espadrilles before and I decided that for this holiday, a pair was needed. I just love pairing this with all sorts of outfits from dresses to even a t-shirt and leggings. They are good dupes for Valentino’s for the little rockstuds, and they can be easily dressed up or down. Although these exact pair are not in stock anymore, I have listed a similar pair down below.
This little bag was a trip down memory lane for me as I found it in my wardrobe while I was packing for this trip. I had been given this as a birthday gift a few years back and I used it absolutely TO DEATH. I was so surprised that it still looked pretty much brand new that I just had to bring it away with me. Again, I have not found a bag in this specific colour, but there is an alternative colour below.
I loved this outfit as it was just an easy, evening meal out type of look and although it was casual, it was still sophisticated and feminine. I finished it off with an eye look with the Tarte Tartlette In Bloom Palette.
