On the eighth day of Blogmas my true love gave to me...
Oh yes! FOUR. DAYS. LEFT. Every day now on this blog is going to be a countdown, because I am just so damn excited! Although me and Nathan realised today that both of us had in fact spent far too much on Christmas and now we may have to live on £1 pizzas for a few days. It doesn't matter, it's all a part of student life! Especially being a student in London. But it's Christmas in 4 day so nothing else really matters.
After yesterday's nail polish post, I wanted to bring more to the table and help you with everything that you would need to complete a who look for this Christmas. So today I have brought you my favourite fragrances of this year for both men and women, so you can get some extra last last minute gifts or if was looking for something new for the new year!
Because it's You & Stronger with You
Out of all the scents that I had discovered this year, these 2 are my favourite. As soon as I found that that Armani were bringing out a couple's perfume I got super excited, especially when it got so much love from big bloggers/Youtubers. But when I went to the shop and smelled these, I knew they would be perfect for me and Nathan. Turned out Nathan loves them as much as I do and now we wear it all the time when we go out together!
Because it's you is the ladies scent with vanilla and musk, it is so feminine and sexy at the same time without being overpowering that I have not met a single person who does not like the scent. It is definitely the perfume that I get the most compliments on! The men's scent, Stronger with you, it a little spicy and again, not too overpowering to the point where you feel like you're sniffing cinnamon. With notes of Cardamom, pink peppercorn and violet leaves, you can be sure that is fragrance is entirely unique. I just love the fact that these 2 scents are made to work together and they absolutely do. Plus the naming is perfection!
So..? Floral Crush & Dark Romance
I have spoken about this brand So...? Fragrances before, in my affordable fragrances post. And even now, I love them very much. I do actually use this brand pretty much on a daily basis, as I like to have one of their body sprays in my bag at all times. They have so many scents now, there is bound to be somehting for everyone!
The 2 that are my absolute favourites is part of their eau de parfum range, called Floral Crush and Dark Romance. Floral Crush surprised me because I am normally more into sweet fruity scents, but this such a sweet smelling fragrance that I just love taking it everywhere with me and spritzing it in public. Because I love that reaction when everyone gradudally smells it and all eventually ends up asking "Who sprayed that?". Dark Romance is a lovely musky scent that is a perfect dupe for YSL's Black Opium (little tip for you there) and these are only about £3.99 a bottle!
Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia
This perfume was my first ever dip into high end fragrances. I had adored the brand for a long time but I could never find a scent that I had liked because I found a lot of them too overpowering. Eventually, I met a lovely lady in Selfridges and she explained to me that fragrances work on everyone differently because of everyone's skin pH. And because of that, every frangrance ends up smelling a little different on everyone.
She eventually helps me find this perfume, and I am totally smitten. It has my favourite scents of sweetness and fruitiness, but it also lasts a very long time on me. Which is a great thing considering the price of Jo Malones! So if you do want to invest in this brand, definitely find a store and get someone to help you and most of their staff are really helpful and really seem to know their stuff. Another people's favourite would be the Peony & Blush Suede scent, so you could check that out too as the lady told me that Jo Malone perfumes are designed so that multiple can be worn at the same time!
This perfume is one that I don't wear neatly as often as my other ones, but it is still one I'm very happy to have in my collection. This is Tommy's fragrance that was inspired by Gigi Hadid during her first season's collaboration with them. I have spoken before in my Gigi x Maybelline post of how much I am a fan of Gigi and how girl bosses like her really inspire me.
This perfume reminds me of a Hollister fragrance I used to have, because they both remind me of the sea. There is quite a salty note to it that just reminds me of the sea breeze, there is a spark of juicy pear which would explain why I love it (all the fruits) and there is also jasmine petals and Cedarwood for that extra bit of warmth.
This was the exact aftershave that Nathan was wearing the first time that I ever met him, so this scent now holds very special memories for me and I love that everytime I smell it, I am just taken back to the time when we both fell in love. Now I would say that I am someone who is quite picky about their scents, even more so when it comes to men's fragrances, but this scent? I absolutely adore.
Since Nathan is a HUGE fan of spices and orange in particular, it made sense that his favourite was this aftershave which had notes of orange blossom, cinnamon and amber. It is definitely one that we will purchase time and time again, if only for the memories.
Police To Be
Yet another spicy scent, which is perfect for this season. This was the other aftershave that Nathan used to wear plenty before we had both discovered our love of the Emporio Armani couple's perfumes. Compared to the Joop, I must say I don't really like this one as much, but it is still another scent that reminds me of Nathan in our 'early days'.
Spicy in a different way with black peppers, it is also slightly toned down by the fruity undertones of grapefruit along with the freshness of apple-tree flowers. What I like most is that neither of the men's fragrances are too strong so that even if he gives you a nice cuddle into the night, you don't feel like you're going to suffocate.
Hope you like this post of our favourite fragrances, they are ones we have been loving all year and we will continue loving into the near future! If you have any more perfume suggestions, let me know in the comments below!
