So after years of begging my family for a dog as I have been a dog lover ever since I could remember, we finally got one a few years back. 3 years old Coffee is a pedigree Labrador and being my first dog, she will always be my puppy no matter how old she is. Even though she is 100% lab, she is a lot smaller than other Labradors. We’re not sure whether she was the runt of the litter or something, but we don’t care at all. She is a very loving but nervous dog. She has all the love in the world to give, yet she can be easily freaked out by stationary or a simple plastic bag. The picture above was when I dressed her up as a lion one year at a dog festival – All the children went nuts.
Easily everyone else’s favourite (including Nathan’s) is this little princess Mocha. It’s definitely not hard to see why, because she is pretty, and she knows it. This not so little Husky x Alaskan Malamute was our second addition into the family, so she is currently 2 years old. I like to refer to her as “princess” because she is one. If I take her out, she know just the way to wag her tail and lower her ears to steal your hearts, and if there is a male husky about, she will definitely flirt with him. Her half Malamute temperament means that she absolutely loves cuddles, and moulting EVERYWHERE.
‘Fun’ fact: This one time I took her to a dog show and entered her into the competition of “Prettiest Female Dog”, and she didn’t even make it into the top 10! I mean.. whaaaat?
Little poppet Cocoa was a very recent addition to our family. She is the only rescue dog here so we are not entirely sure what breed she is or exactly how old she is. But we think she is a Miniature Pinscher that should be around 1 year old. Because of her background (Mother was a stray so the litter was born roadside and no one knows what happened to them but we assume she has been abused), she is very very nervous. To the point where the first day I met her, it took her an hour just to stiff my hand. Now she is very comfortable with me and my family and she has boundless amounts of love to give, but she still wouldn’t let strangers go near her. But she is living a very happy life now with me and my family and her other 2 sisters.
